    This is a seasonal 9.5 month position active during the academic year from approximately August 1- May 15, with full benefit coverage for 12 months. As a member of the Studio Operations team, this employee will be actively engaged in creating new collaborative models and building active and accessible cross-disciplinary spaces for the CCA community during the CCA campus unification process. They will work closely with the Program Chair and area faculty to ensure that studio operations are aligned with academic goals and needs. The Textiles / Sculpture Studio Manager will be responsible for the operating budget of the textiles studio, will supervise a crew of 5+ work study students, and will provide safety and technical expertise for all textiles studio users. Expertise with the studios’ tools, materials, and processes while upholding a safe and equitable professional studio culture for a diverse body of students and faculty is necessary. Familiarity with a broad range of textiles materials and proficiency in multiple approaches to textiles art and design will be expected, as well as competency in metal and wood fabrication.

    As part of the 3D Studios Management team, the Textiles / Sculpture Studio Manager will also be responsible for the shared supervision and upkeep of the Makers Library tool checkout, Shaklee Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Wax Room, Sculpture Benchroom, and A22 Sculpture Gallery, facilities that serve a range of students from CCA’s Fine Arts programs. The Textile / Sculpture Studio Manager is the primary manager of the studios which support students in the California College of the Arts Textiles Studios.
